‘दलित कवितेतील नवे प्रवाह’ हा महेंद्र भवरे यांचा दलित काव्याचा चिकित्सक अभ्यास करणारा महत्त्वपूर्ण मराठी समीक्षाग्रंथ आहे. शब्दालय प्रकाशन, श्रीरामपूर यांनी प्रकाशित केलेल्या या पुस्तकाची दखल ‘लोकमत’ वृत्तपत्राने ३१ मार्च २००९ रोजी घेतली. या ग्रंथात दहा महत्त्वपूर्ण दलित कवींच्या कवितांमधील आशय, भाषा, प्रतिमा, प्रतीके आणि जीवनमूल्यांचा विस्तृत अभ्यास करण्यात आला आहे.

दलित कविता ही सामाजिक विषमता, जातीय अन्याय, शोषण, मानवी प्रतिष्ठा, विद्रोह आणि परिवर्तनाची प्रभावी अभिव्यक्ती आहे. महेंद्र भवरे यांनी निवडक कवींच्या कवितांचा अभ्यास करताना त्यांच्या आशयासोबत भाषिक रचना, प्रतिमाविश्व, प्रतीकांचा वापर आणि सामाजिक संदर्भ यांचा चिकित्सक विचार केला आहे.

“Dalit Kavitetil Nave Pravah” is an important Marathi critical study of Dalit poetry by Mahendra Bhavre. Published by Shabdalay Publications, Shrirampur, the book was featured in Lokmat on 31 March 2009. It examines the themes, language, imagery, symbols and life values found in the poetry of ten significant Dalit poets.

Dalit poetry is a powerful expression of social inequality, caste injustice, exploitation, human dignity, resistance and transformation. Bhavre studies selected poets not only through their central themes but also through their linguistic structures, imagery, symbolism and wider social contexts.

The book explores rebellious consciousness that challenges traditional systems of value. It examines representations of changing social realities and the many layers of Dalit experience. The poetry reflects suffering, struggle, inequality and self-respect across both rural and urban environments.

The use of dialects, cultural images, experimental poetic forms and values associated with the Dalit movement gives this body of poetry a distinct literary identity. Bhavre’s criticism moves beyond explaining individual poems and considers the social, cultural and ideological foundations of modern Dalit poetry.
