ज्येष्ठ कवयित्री व प्रकाशिका सुमती लांडे यांनी पुस्तक भिशी उपक्रमातून पुस्तके एका व्यक्तीपुरती मर्यादित न राहता संपूर्ण कुटुंबाचा भाग बनतात आणि घराघरांत वाचनसंस्कृती रुजून एक प्रकारचे ‘पुस्तक घर’ निर्माण होऊ शकते, असे मत व्यक्त केले.
Senior poet and publisher Sumati Lande highlighted how the Pustak Bhishi reading initiative can take books beyond individual ownership, encourage family reading and gradually transform homes into vibrant ‘book homes’.
पुस्तक भिशी या वाचन चळवळीमुळे पुस्तके केवळ एका वाचकापुरती मर्यादित न राहता संपूर्ण कुटुंबाचा भाग बनत असल्याचे ज्येष्ठ कवयित्री आणि प्रकाशिका सुमती लांडे यांनी सांगितले. ऑनलाइन संवादातून त्यांनी वाचनाची सवय, पुस्तकांची देवाणघेवाण आणि घराघरांत वाचनाचे वातावरण निर्माण करण्याची गरज अधोरेखित केली.
त्यांच्या मते, वाचनावर अनावश्यक मर्यादा घालू नयेत. हातात येणारे विविध प्रकारचे साहित्य वाचल्याने माणूस स्वतःचा आणि समाजाचा अधिक सखोल शोध घेऊ शकतो. प्रत्येक पुस्तक आणि प्रत्येक शब्दामागे नवे अर्थ, अनुभव आणि विचार दडलेले असतात. कथा, कादंबरी, कविता आणि व्यक्तिचरित्र यांसारखे विविध साहित्यप्रकार वाचकाला नव्या विचारांकडे घेऊन जातात.
वाचलेली पुस्तके केवळ कपाटात साठवून न ठेवता ती इतरांना वाचण्यासाठी द्यावीत, त्यावर चर्चा करावी आणि वाचनानंतर स्वतःचे विचार व्यक्त करावेत, असा संदेशही त्यांनी दिला. अशा देवाणघेवाणीतून वाचन चळवळ अधिक व्यापक होऊन प्रत्येक घरात वाचनाचा स्वतंत्र कोपरा आणि पुढे ‘पुस्तक घर’ निर्माण होऊ शकते, हा या उपक्रमाचा केंद्रबिंदू आहे.
हा उपक्रम पुस्तकांबरोबरच वाचक, साहित्यिक आणि कुटुंबांना जोडणारा असून मराठी वाचनसंस्कृती समृद्ध करण्यासाठी महत्त्वपूर्ण ठरतो.

During an online literary interaction, Lande emphasised that reading should remain open and unrestricted. She noted that stories, novels, poetry and biographies can introduce readers to new perspectives and encourage thoughtful reflection.
A key idea behind the initiative is that books should not simply remain stored after they are read. Readers are encouraged to circulate them, discuss what they have read and express their own responses. Such sharing can strengthen the reading movement and make literature accessible to a wider community.
Lande also advocated creating a dedicated reading corner at home. When families read, exchange books and talk about literature together, a home can gradually develop into a true “book home”—a space where reading becomes part of everyday life.
