About this book
Although the essays in Lekha-Jokha express thoughts and perspectives on literature, they do not attain the level of pure, formal literary criticism. The reason lies in my approach while writing these essays. I believed that, while maintaining the logical reasoning, clarity of argument and critical standards essential to literary analysis, one could avoid excessive technical terminology and detached objectivity. Instead, by using language that would not feel alien to readers, it would be possible to engage them in a meaningful dialogue and stimulate intellectual debate about literature.
Naturally, I am fully aware that the essays in Lekha-Jokha do not fit neatly within the conventional boundaries of literary criticism. However, if this book helps readers who approach literary activities with due seriousness discover even a few unfamiliar paths—or even modest trails—that stimulate their thinking, I will consider the book’s purpose fulfilled.
