About this book
This is not merely a book of poems; it is the story of feet rooted in the soil, cracked soles, and hands worn raw by suffering. The pain that rises from every strike of the plough, the hope gathered at the bottom of a well, the history held in the eyes of the bullocks, and the anguish deeply embedded in the farmer’s heart—all of it comes alive in these poems.
Here, the soil speaks.
The sky is sometimes a god, and sometimes a culprit. Rain brings hope, yet at times, arriving out of season, it also takes everything away. And still, a sprout breaks through the cracked earth; a shadow is born from the scorching sun; and from the dust of despair, a new sowing rises.
This is a field of words—sown with sweat, tears, and perseverance, and nurtured into life beneath the sunlight of hope.
Those who have experienced the fields will see their own reflection in these poems. But for those who have not, the pain in Nangराच्या Ghav (The Wounds of the Plough) is something that must, at least once, be heard.
