ज्येष्ठ साहित्यिकांच्या उपस्थितीत ‘प्रतिवृत्तांत’ ग्रंथाचे प्रकाशन ‘Prativruttant’ Released in the Presence of Eminent Marathi Literary Figures

शब्दालय प्रकाशनाच्या वाटचालीतील एक महत्त्वपूर्ण साहित्यिक टप्पा म्हणून ‘प्रतिवृत्तांत — सातपाटील कुलवृत्तांत : प्रत्यय नोंदी’ या ग्रंथाचा प्रकाशन कार्यक्रम १० मे २०२४ रोजी पार पडला. ज्येष्ठ लेखक-कवी भालचंद्र नेमाडे, रंगनाथ पठारे, राजन गवस, डॉ. आ. ह. साळुंखे, शब्दालय प्रकाशनच्या सुमती लांडे, अभिनेते सयाजी शिंदे, लेखक अरविंद जगताप, प्रतिभा नेमाडे आणि प्रसिद्ध चित्रकार प्रभाकर कोलते यांच्या हस्ते ग्रंथाचे प्रकाशन झाले.

रंगनाथ पठारे यांची ‘सातपाटील कुलवृत्तांत’ ही बृहद् कादंबरी शब्दालय प्रकाशनाने २० जुलै २०१९ रोजी प्रकाशित केली. ही तारीख रंगनाथ पठारे यांचा जन्मदिवस म्हणून नोंदवण्यात आली होती; प्रत्यक्षात कादंबरी सप्टेंबर २०१९पासून वाचकांसाठी उपलब्ध झाली. प्रकाशित होताच या कादंबरीला मिळालेला त्वरित आणि भरघोस प्रतिसाद शब्दालयसाठी आनंददायी तसेच आश्चर्याचा सुखद धक्का देणारा होता.

पुण्यातील प्रकाशनानंतर अवघ्या दोन महिन्यांत कादंबरीची दुसरी आवृत्ती प्रकाशित करावी लागली. वाचकांनी पत्रे, लेख, समीक्षा आणि फेसबुकसारख्या समाजमाध्यमांवरून मोठ्या प्रमाणात प्रतिक्रिया नोंदवल्या. या प्रतिसादाचे सांस्कृतिक आणि वाङ्मयीन महत्त्व ओळखून शब्दालयने २०२०चा दिवाळी अंक ‘सातपाटील कुलवृत्तांत’वरील वाचकप्रतिक्रिया आणि लेखनासाठी समर्पित केला. त्या विशेषांकालाही चांगला प्रतिसाद मिळाला.

विविध सामाजिक आणि साहित्यिक स्तरांतील वाचकांच्या या प्रतिक्रिया स्वतंत्र ग्रंथरूपात जतन व्हाव्यात, या विचारातून ‘प्रतिवृत्तांत’ची निर्मिती झाली. हा ग्रंथ केवळ एका कादंबरीवरील अभिप्रायांचा संग्रह नाही; तो लेखक, वाचक आणि प्रकाशक यांच्यात निर्माण झालेल्या साहित्यिक संवादाचा दस्तऐवज आहे. मराठी कादंबरीचा वाचकस्वीकार, साहित्यिक प्रतिसाद आणि वाचनसंस्कृती यांचा अभ्यास करणाऱ्यांसाठी ‘प्रतिवृत्तांत’ संग्रहमूल्याचा संदर्भग्रंथ ठरतो.

भव्य वडाच्या झाडाखाली झालेल्या या प्रकाशनप्रसंगी उपस्थित मान्यवरांनी आणि विद्यार्थ्यांनी हातात ‘प्रतिवृत्तांत’ घेऊन शब्दालयच्या साहित्यिक प्रवासात एक संस्मरणीय अध्याय जोडला. दर्जेदार मराठी साहित्य प्रकाशित करण्यासोबतच त्यावर होणारा वाचकसंवाद जतन करण्याच्या शब्दालयच्या भूमिकेचे हे महत्त्वपूर्ण उदाहरण आहे.

Shabdalay Prakashan marked an important literary milestone with the release of ‘Prativruttant — Satpatil Kulvruttant: Reader Response Records’ on 10 May 2024. The book was released in the presence of eminent writer-poet Bhalchandra Nemade, Rangnath Pathare, Rajan Gavas, Dr A. H. Salunkhe, Shabdalay’s Sumati Lande, actor Sayaji Shinde, writer Arvind Jagtap, Pratibha Nemade and renowned artist Prabhakar Kolte.

Rangnath Pathare’s major Marathi novel ‘Satpatil Kulvruttant’ was published by Shabdalay Prakashan on 20 July 2019, a date chosen to coincide with the author’s birthday. The novel became available to readers in September 2019 and received an immediate and unusually strong response. Shabdalay had expected the book to grow gradually, but its reception surpassed expectations.

Following its Pune launch, a second edition was required within only two months. Readers responded through articles, reviews, letters and social media platforms such as Facebook. Recognising the literary value of this engagement, Shabdalay devoted its 2020 Diwali issue to writings and reactions inspired by ‘Satpatil Kulvruttant’. The special issue also received an enthusiastic response.

‘Prativruttant’ was conceived to preserve these responses in a permanent book form. It is more than a compilation of reviews: it documents the relationship between a significant Marathi novel, its readers and its publisher. The volume offers valuable material for readers and researchers interested in Marathi fiction, literary reception, reader-response studies and contemporary reading culture.

The release gathering beneath a large banyan tree brought together senior literary figures, artists, students and young readers holding copies of the book. The occasion reflects Shabdalay’s broader publishing philosophy—not only to publish meaningful Marathi literature, but also to preserve the dialogue and cultural memory created around it.
