Satyashodhak Pandit S. C. Patil was one of the earliest biographers of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule. On the occasion of Jyotiba Phule’s birth centenary in 1927, he wrote an extensive biography spanning 200 pages.

Even after this detailed biography was published, Satyashodhak Pandit S. C. Patil continued his research by visiting numerous people, institutions, and places associated with Jyotiba Phule, gathering a substantial amount of additional information. He intended to write an even more comprehensive biography based on these findings, but the demands of his professional commitments prevented him from completing the project.

With the aim of making Jyotiba Phule’s thoughts and contributions accessible to the public as soon as possible, he wrote Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Yanchaa Alp Parichay, which was published in 1938. Although this biography is brief, it serves as a valuable introduction that offers readers a clearer understanding of Jyotiba Phule’s ideas and social contributions.
