तीन दशकांतील मराठी रंगभूमी : बदलते संदर्भ आणि समकालीन जाणिवा Three Decades of Marathi Theatre: Changing Contexts and Contemporary Concerns

साहित्य अकादमी आणि शब्दालय प्रकाशन यांच्या संयुक्त विद्यमाने आयोजित नाट्यपरिसंवादात गेल्या तीन दशकांतील मराठी नाटक आणि रंगभूमीच्या बदलत्या प्रवासावर सखोल चर्चा करण्यात आली. लेखक, रंगकर्मी आणि अभ्यासकांनी सामाजिक, सांस्कृतिक, राजकीय आणि आर्थिक बदलांचा समकालीन मराठी नाटकांवर झालेला प्रभाव विविध दृष्टिकोनांतून मांडला.

बदलत्या समाजव्यवस्थेबरोबर प्रेक्षकांची अभिरुची, सांस्कृतिक प्रभाव आणि नव्या सामाजिक जाणिवांमध्येही परिवर्तन झाले. त्याचा परिणाम नाटकांचे विषय, भाषा, नाट्यरचना आणि सादरीकरणाच्या पद्धतींवर झाला. समकालीन नाटककारांनी नवीन विषय, प्रयोगशील मांडणी आणि बदलत्या सामाजिक प्रश्नांना रंगभूमीवर स्थान दिल्यामुळे मराठी रंगभूमीने काळानुसार स्वतःचे स्वरूप विकसित केले.

परिसंवादात रंगभूमी ही केवळ मनोरंजनाचे साधन नसून सामाजिक चिंतन, सांस्कृतिक संवाद आणि कलात्मक अभिव्यक्तीचे प्रभावी माध्यम असल्याचे अधोरेखित करण्यात आले. बदलती नाती, अस्मिता, संघर्ष आणि सामाजिक वास्तव यांचे प्रतिबिंब नाटकांमध्ये उमटत राहिल्याने गेली तीन दशके आधुनिक मराठी रंगभूमीच्या विकासातील महत्त्वाचा आणि प्रयोगशील कालखंड ठरल्याचे चर्चेतून स्पष्ट झाले.

A theatre seminar jointly organised by Sahitya Akademi and Shabdalaya Prakashan brought together writers, theatre practitioners and scholars to examine the evolution of Marathi theatre over the last three decades. The discussion focused on the influence of changing social, cultural, political and economic conditions on contemporary Marathi plays and theatrical practices.

Participants reflected on how Marathi theatre has responded to evolving social realities, changing audience expectations and new cultural influences. These developments have encouraged playwrights and theatre practitioners to experiment with themes, language, dramatic structures and performance styles, helping Marathi theatre remain relevant to successive generations.

The seminar also emphasised theatre as an important medium of social reflection, cultural dialogue and artistic expression. Contemporary Marathi plays continue to portray changing relationships, identities, conflicts and wider social concerns, making theatre an important record of social transformation.

Overall, the discussion presented the last three decades as a significant period in the development of modern Marathi theatre, marked by experimentation, changing contexts and a sustained commitment to meaningful artistic expression.
