२४ डिसेंबर १९९९ ते २ जानेवारी २००० या कालावधीत ‘संस्कृती’, नाशिक यांच्या वतीने ‘सहस्रकाची ग्रंथयात्रा १९९९–२०००’ हा वैशिष्ट्यपूर्ण साहित्यिक उपक्रम आयोजित करण्यात आला. पुस्तके, ग्रंथसंस्कृती, साहित्य आणि वाचनाच्या माध्यमातून नव्या सहस्रकाचे स्वागत करणारा हा उपक्रम महाराष्ट्राच्या साहित्यिक इतिहासातील एक संस्मरणीय पर्व ठरला.
या ग्रंथयात्रेचे स्मृतिचिन्ह शब्दालयच्या संग्रहातील एक महत्त्वाचा आणि अभिमानास्पद ठेवा आहे. पुस्तकप्रदर्शन, लेखक-वाचक संवाद आणि वाचनसंस्कृतीचा प्रसार अशा उपक्रमांशी असलेली शब्दालयची दीर्घकालीन बांधिलकी या स्मृतिचिन्हातून अधोरेखित होते.

Sahasrakachi Granthayatra 1999–2000 was a distinctive literary initiative organised by Sanskruti, Nashik, from 24 December 1999 to 2 January 2000. The event welcomed the new millennium through books, literature, knowledge and the celebration of reading culture.
