His stories, poems and articles have been broadcast on All India Radio, Sangli, and he has also participated in various discussion programmes. His humorous stories and poems have appeared in several reputed Diwali special issues.
While reading Santosh Arvindekar’s autobiography, one repeatedly senses that, despite having successfully completed his postgraduate studies, he was a misfit in the world of bus-conductor culture. Circumstances left him with little choice but to become a part of that world. Yet, his upbringing and inherent values were so different that even after spending many years in that environment, he remained distinct from it—much like a film of oil floating on water, never blending with it.
A bus conductor encounters numerous incidents, both big and small, in the course of his daily life. Arvindekar has narrated these experiences in a highly engaging manner. His excellent command of language makes the writing all the more readable.
