About this book
The Prince and the Monster in the Theatre Company (Rajkumar Ani Natak Companytala Rakshas) is a one-act play for children that portrays an unexpected encounter between a group of adolescent children and a monster.
The monster arrives in the present age from ancient times in search of water. Tormented by thirst, he is desperately looking for a river. His search for the river also has another special purpose. Following the encounter between the monster and the schoolchildren, the play unfolds through a series of amusing and entertaining episodes.
The differences between everyday life in ancient times and the modern world leave the monster bewildered. Everything around him is unfamiliar and new. Meanwhile, the children consider the monster’s normal behaviour strange and eccentric. Their fear and curiosity about him lead to several humorous situations that make the play thoroughly entertaining.
As the play progresses, it also presents episodes that condemn and resist hooliganism and criminal tendencies, while emphasizing the importance of protecting natural resources. Through these situations, the play imparts moral values and raises awareness among adolescent children, making it both entertaining and educational.
