About this book
The contribution and sacrifices of Adivasis in India’s freedom struggle have long remained overlooked. As a result, Indian society and the wider world have not been able to fully recognise their role in the freedom movement or understand the struggles they endured. The younger generation, in particular, remains largely unaware of this history.
One such dedicated young Adivasi revolutionary who played a significant role in India’s freedom struggle was Birsa Munda.
Birsa Munda was born on 15 November 1875, in the village of Ulihatu in Jharkhand. He received his education at a German missionary school. Birsa had a friendly and inclusive nature and got along well with everyone. During his youth, he brought together like-minded companions and people of his own age, forming a group united by shared ideas and purpose.
