प्रवीण बांदेकर यांच्या शब्दालय प्रकाशित ‘चाळेगत’ कादंबरीचे सावंतवाडीच्या श्रीराम वाचन मंदिरात ज्येष्ठ साहित्यिक रंगनाथ पठारे यांच्या हस्ते प्रकाशन झाले. कोकणातील सामाजिक-सांस्कृतिक वास्तव, बहुजन समाजाचे अनुभव आणि मानवी मनातील अव्यक्त जाणिवांचे चित्रण करणारी ही कादंबरी मराठी साहित्यविश्वातील महत्त्वपूर्ण कलाकृती ठरली.
Pravin Bandekar’s Shabdalay-published novel Chaalegat was formally launched by veteran Marathi writer Ranganath Pathare at Shriram Vachan Mandir in Sawantwadi. The novel portrays the social and cultural realities of the Konkan region, marginalised communities and unspoken human experiences.
प्रवीण बांदेकर यांच्या ‘चाळेगत’ या कादंबरीचा प्रकाशन सोहळा सावंतवाडी येथील श्रीराम वाचन मंदिरात आयोजित करण्यात आला. ज्येष्ठ साहित्यिक रंगनाथ पठारे यांच्या हस्ते कादंबरीचे प्रकाशन झाले. या कार्यक्रमाला लेखक, समीक्षक, प्रकाशक आणि स्थानिक साहित्य-सांस्कृतिक क्षेत्रातील मान्यवर उपस्थित होते. शब्दालयच्या प्रकाशिका सुमती लांडे यांची उपस्थिती कार्यक्रमातील शब्दालयचा महत्त्वपूर्ण सहभाग अधोरेखित करते.
रंगनाथ पठारे यांनी ‘चाळेगत’मधील जीवनानुभव, सामाजिक-सांस्कृतिक वास्तव आणि प्रयोगशील रचनाशैलीचे विश्लेषण केले. कोकणातील बहुजन समाजाचे दैनंदिन जीवन, विस्कळीत सामाजिक परिस्थिती, राजकीय-सांस्कृतिक बदल आणि मानवी मनातील अव्यक्त संवेदना कादंबरीत प्रभावीपणे चित्रित झाल्याचे त्यांनी नमूद केले.
कादंबरीमध्ये कोकणी, कुणबी आणि इतर स्थानिक बोलीभाषांशी संबंधित शब्दांचा वापर दिसतो. या भाषिक वैशिष्ट्यांमुळे कादंबरीतील व्यक्तिरेखा आणि त्यांचे सामाजिक जग अधिक जिवंत होते. कथानक, निवेदनपद्धती आणि विविध पात्रांच्या माध्यमातून समकालीन कोकणाचे व्यापक चित्र उभे राहते.
‘चाळेगत’ ही प्रवीण बांदेकर यांची पहिली कादंबरी असून ती शब्दालय प्रकाशनाने प्रकाशित केली आहे. कोकणातील सामाजिक-राजकीय परिवर्तनाचे वास्तवदर्शी चित्रण करणारी ही साहित्यकृती म्हणून तिची नोंद घेतली जाते.
शब्दालयसाठी हा प्रकाशन सोहळा नव्या आणि प्रयोगशील लेखकांना व्यासपीठ देण्याच्या साहित्यिक बांधिलकीची महत्त्वपूर्ण आठवण आहे. प्रादेशिक अनुभव, बोलीभाषा आणि समकालीन सामाजिक प्रश्न मांडणारे दर्जेदार मराठी साहित्य वाचकांपर्यंत पोहोचवण्याच्या शब्दालयच्या प्रयत्नांचे हे वृत्तकात्रण प्रतिनिधित्व करते.
The launch of Pravin Bandekar’s novel Chaalegat was held at Shriram Vachan Mandir in Sawantwadi. The book was formally released by veteran Marathi writer Ranganath Pathare in the presence of writers, critics, publishers and representatives from the local literary and cultural community. The participation of Shabdalay publisher Sumati Lande highlighted Shabdalay’s role in bringing the novel to readers.
Ranganath Pathare discussed the novel’s representation of lived experience, social and cultural realities and experimental narrative structure. He observed that Chaalegat effectively portrays marginalised communities, changing political and cultural conditions in the Konkan region and the unspoken emotions within human life.
The novel incorporates vocabulary associated with Konkani, Kunbi and other regional dialects. These linguistic features give its characters and social landscape a strong sense of authenticity. Through its narrative structure and diverse characters, the novel creates a multilayered representation of contemporary Konkan society.
Chaalegat is Pravin Bandekar’s debut novel and was published by Shabdalay Prakashan. It has been recognised for its realistic portrayal of social and political transformations in the Konkan region.
For Shabdalay, the launch represents an important milestone in its commitment to supporting distinctive and experimental Marathi voices. This newspaper clipping documents Shabdalay’s continuing efforts to introduce readers to literature rooted in regional experience, local language and contemporary social questions.
