बाराव्या समाजप्रबोधन साहित्य संमेलनात सुमती लांडे यांची उपस्थिती Sumati Lande at the 12th Samajprabodhan Sahitya Sammelan

१८ फेब्रुवारी २००३ रोजीच्या सकाळच्या पुणे आवृत्तीत उंडाळे, ता. कराड येथे आयोजित बाराव्या समाजप्रबोधन साहित्य संमेलनाच्या उद्घाटन सोहळ्याचे छायाचित्र प्रसिद्ध झाले. या संमेलनाचे उद्घाटन ज्येष्ठ साहित्यिक प्रा. गंगाधर पानतावणे यांच्या हस्ते करण्यात आले.

प्रसिद्ध छायाचित्रामध्ये शब्दालयच्या संस्थापक सुमती लांडे यांच्यासह डॉ. रा. गो. प्रभुणे, विजया राजाध्यक्ष, विलासराव पाटील-उंडाळकर आणि इतर मान्यवर उपस्थित दिसतात. विविध साहित्यिक आणि सामाजिक क्षेत्रांतील व्यक्तींना एकत्र आणणाऱ्या या कार्यक्रमाने साहित्य व समाजप्रबोधन यांच्यातील संबंध अधोरेखित केला.

समाजप्रबोधन साहित्य संमेलनासारखे कार्यक्रम साहित्याला केवळ वाचनापुरते मर्यादित न ठेवता सामाजिक प्रश्न, सांस्कृतिक मूल्ये आणि सार्वजनिक संवादाशी जोडतात. मान्यवर लेखक, अभ्यासक आणि साहित्यप्रेमींच्या सहभागामुळे अशा संमेलनांना व्यापक वैचारिक महत्त्व प्राप्त होते.

सुमती लांडे यांचा या संमेलनातील सहभाग शब्दालयच्या व्यापक साहित्यिक भूमिकेशी संबंधित आहे. पुस्तके प्रकाशित करण्यासोबत साहित्यिक कार्यक्रम, लेखक-वाचक संवाद आणि समाजाभिमुख सांस्कृतिक उपक्रमांमध्ये सहभाग नोंदवण्याची शब्दालयची परंपरा या छायाचित्रातून दिसून येते.

या पानावरील मुख्य वृत्तात तत्कालीन राष्ट्रपती डॉ. ए. पी. जे. अब्दुल कलाम यांनी अयोध्या प्रश्नावर सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाने त्वरित निकाल द्यावा, अशी व्यक्त केलेली अपेक्षा प्रसिद्ध झाली आहे. त्याच पानावरील साहित्य संमेलनाचे छायाचित्र त्या काळातील राष्ट्रीय घडामोडींसोबत महाराष्ट्रातील साहित्यिक-सांस्कृतिक हालचालींची नोंद जपते.

Shabdalaya Publication House च्या Press & Media संग्रहातील हे कात्रण सुमती लांडे यांच्या साहित्यिक सहभागाचा आणि शब्दालयच्या समाजाभिमुख प्रकाशन दृष्टिकोनाचा महत्त्वपूर्ण ऐतिहासिक दस्तऐवज आहे.

The Pune edition of Sakal dated 18 February 2003 carried a photograph of the inauguration of the 12th Samajprabodhan Sahitya Sammelan held at Undale in Karad. The conference was inaugurated by senior Marathi litterateur Prof. Gangadhar Pantawane.

The published photograph includes Shabdalaya founder Sumati Lande along with Dr. R. G. Prabhune, Vijaya Rajadhyaksha, Vilasrao Patil-Undalkar and other distinguished participants. The gathering brought together people from literary and social fields to reinforce the connection between literature and public awareness.

Conferences devoted to social awareness extend literature beyond reading and publishing by connecting it with cultural values, social concerns and meaningful public dialogue. The participation of writers, scholars and literary organisations gives such programmes wider intellectual and cultural importance.

Sumati Lande’s participation reflects Shabdalaya’s broader literary role. Alongside publishing books, Shabdalaya has maintained an association with literary conferences, author-reader engagement and socially meaningful cultural activities.

The presence of the literary-conference photograph on the same page preserves both national news and Maharashtra’s cultural activity from that period.
