नामदेवराव देसाई यांच्या ‘पंचनामा’च्या दुसऱ्या आवृत्तीचे श्रीरामपूरमध्ये प्रकाशन Second Edition of Namdevrao Desai’s Panchnama Released in Shrirampur

शब्दालय प्रकाशनातर्फे ज्येष्ठ ग्रामीण साहित्यिक नामदेवराव देसाई यांच्या पंचनामा पुस्तकाच्या दुसऱ्या आवृत्तीचा प्रकाशन सोहळा श्रीरामपूरमध्ये आयोजित करण्यात आला. आमदार लहू कानडे, राष्ट्रवादी काँग्रेसचे प्रदेश सरचिटणीस अविनाश आदिक आणि साहित्य-सांस्कृतिक क्षेत्रातील मान्यवरांच्या उपस्थितीत पुस्तकाचे प्रकाशन झाले.

कार्यक्रमात आमदार लहू कानडे यांनी आपल्या राजकीय आणि साहित्यिक प्रवासातील आठवणी सांगितल्या. निवडणूक लढवण्याचे स्वप्न सुरुवातीला दिल्लीशी जोडलेले असले, तरी पुढे मुंबईतील विधानसभेपर्यंतचा प्रवास घडल्याचे त्यांनी विनोदी शैलीत सांगितले. “साहित्याने आणि शब्दाने आपल्याला आमदार केले,” असे मत व्यक्त करत त्यांनी आपल्या जडणघडणीत कविता, साहित्य आणि वाचनाचे महत्त्व अधोरेखित केले.

पंचनामा हे नामदेवराव देसाई यांच्या ग्रामीण अनुभवांवर आणि सामाजिक निरीक्षणांवर आधारित साहित्यकृती म्हणून या प्रसंगी गौरविण्यात आले. पुस्तकाच्या दुसऱ्या आवृत्तीचे प्रकाशन होणे म्हणजे वाचकांकडून या लेखनाला मिळालेल्या प्रतिसादाची महत्त्वपूर्ण नोंद आहे.

नामदेवराव देसाई यांनी बदलत्या काळात पुस्तकांना थेट वाचकांपर्यंत पोहोचवण्याची आवश्यकता व्यक्त केली. वाचनसंस्कृती कमी होत असताना महामार्गांवर अभिनव पद्धतीचे “पुस्तक ढाबे” सुरू करावेत, अशी कल्पना त्यांनी मांडली. वाचकांना प्रवासातही पुस्तके सहज उपलब्ध व्हावीत आणि प्रत्येक घरापर्यंत साहित्य पोहोचावे, हा या संकल्पनेमागील उद्देश होता.

कार्यक्रमाला महाराष्ट्र राज्य साहित्य आणि संस्कृती मंडळाचे सदस्य संतोष खेडलेकर, नगराध्यक्षा अनुराधा आदिक, अतिरिक्त पोलीस अधीक्षक डॉ. दीपाली काळे, डॉ. प्रमोद काळे, सुमती लांडे, सुमित लांडे आणि मृण्मयी लांडे यांच्यासह विविध क्षेत्रांतील मान्यवर उपस्थित होते.

शब्दालय प्रकाशनाने पंचनामाची दुसरी आवृत्ती प्रकाशित करून ग्रामीण मराठी साहित्याच्या जतन आणि प्रसाराला नवी चालना दिली. हा कार्यक्रम पुस्तक प्रकाशनापुरता मर्यादित न राहता साहित्य, सार्वजनिक जीवन आणि वाचनसंस्कृती यांच्यातील जिवंत नाते अधोरेखित करणारा ठरला.

Shabdalaya Prakashan organised the release of the second edition of Panchnama, written by veteran rural author Namdevrao Desai, in Shrirampur. MLA Lahu Kanade, Nationalist Congress Party state general secretary Avinash Adik and several literary and cultural personalities attended the programme.

During his address, MLA Lahu Kanade shared memories from his literary and political journey. In a humorous reference to his original ambitions and eventual political career, he remarked that he had intended to reach Delhi but arrived in Mumbai. He credited literature and the power of words with shaping his personality and helping him become a public representative.

Panchnama was recognised as an important work rooted in rural experience and social observation. The publication of its second edition demonstrated the continued interest shown by Marathi readers and marked another important milestone in Namdevrao Desai’s literary career.

Desai also addressed the challenges facing contemporary reading culture. To make books more accessible, he proposed establishing innovative “book dhabas” along major highways. Such spaces could allow travellers to discover books during their journeys and help publishers take literature beyond conventional bookstores.

The programme was attended by Maharashtra State Board of Literature and Culture member Santosh Khedlekar, municipal president Anuradha Adik, Additional Superintendent of Police Dr Dipali Kale, Dr Pramod Kale, Sumati Lande, Sumit Lande and Mrinmayi Lande, among others.

By publishing the second edition of Panchnama, Shabdalaya Prakashan strengthened its commitment to preserving and promoting Marathi rural literature. The event also highlighted the close relationship between books, public life and the continuing effort to develop a stronger reading culture.
