श्रीरामपूर येथे साहित्य अकादमी आणि शब्दालय प्रकाशन यांच्या संयुक्त विद्यमाने आयोजित ‘नव्वदोत्तरी नाटक : आशय आणि रूप’ या परिसंवादात जागतिकीकरण, सामाजिक बदल, राजकीय उलथापालथ आणि बदलती जीवनशैली यांचा मराठी नाटकांवर झालेला परिणाम विविध नाटककार आणि अभ्यासकांनी मांडला.

श्रीरामपूर येथे साहित्य अकादमी आणि शब्दालय प्रकाशन यांच्या वतीने ‘नव्वदोत्तरी नाटक : आशय आणि रूप’ या विषयावर दोन दिवसीय नाट्य परिसंवाद आयोजित करण्यात आला. 2 आणि 3 जुलै रोजी झालेल्या या कार्यक्रमात मराठी नाटकाच्या 1990 नंतरच्या वाटचालीचा विविध अंगांनी विचार करण्यात आला.
परिसंवादात गेल्या तीन दशकांतील जागतिकीकरण, बदलती सामाजिक सहकार्याची भावना, राजकीय-सामाजिक उलथापालथ, न्यूक्लिअर फॅमिलीची संकल्पना आणि बदलती जीवनशैली यांचा नव्वदोत्तरी मराठी नाटकाच्या आशय आणि स्वरूपावर खोलवर परिणाम झाल्याचे मांडण्यात आले.
ज्येष्ठ नाटककार दत्ता भगत यांनी 1990 नंतर भारतीय समाजजीवनात झालेल्या खासगीकरण, उदारीकरण आणि जागतिकीकरणाच्या बदलांचा जीवनशैलीवर मोठा प्रभाव पडल्याचे सांगितले. या बदलांमुळे साहित्य आणि नाटकातील विषय, पात्रे, संघर्ष आणि सामाजिक जाणिवाही बदलल्या.
प्रसिद्ध नाटककार सतीश आळेकर यांनी नव्या पिढीच्या नाट्यलेखनातील बदलांचा संदर्भ देत, आजच्या पिढीने क्रांतिकारक नाटक कसे लिहावे आणि बदलत्या वास्तवाशी नाटकाने कसे जोडले जावे, याविषयी प्रश्न उपस्थित केले.
परिसंवादात राजकीय सत्तासंघर्ष, समाजातील बदल, नव्या नाट्यप्रवृत्ती, नाट्यभाषा आणि मराठी रंगभूमीच्या बदलत्या स्वरूपावरही चर्चा झाली. या उपक्रमामुळे श्रीरामपूरसारख्या शहरात नाट्यविषयक गंभीर चर्चा आणि सांस्कृतिक जाणिवांना चालना मिळेल, असा विश्वासही व्यक्त करण्यात आला.
A two-day symposium titled “Post-1990 Marathi Theatre: Content and Form” was organised in Shrirampur by the Sahitya Akademi and Shabdalaya Prakashan on 2 and 3 July.
The discussions examined how major changes over the last three decades—including globalisation, political and social upheaval, changing family structures, shifting social relationships and new lifestyles—have influenced the themes and forms of Marathi theatre.
Veteran playwright Datta Bhagat highlighted the deep impact of liberalisation, privatisation and globalisation after 1990 on everyday life. According to the discussions, these changes also transformed literary expression, characterisation, social conflict and the subjects explored in Marathi plays.
Noted playwright Satish Alekar reflected on the challenge facing the new generation of dramatists: how to create bold and meaningful theatre in a rapidly changing social environment. His remarks focused on the relationship between contemporary realities and innovative theatrical writing.
The symposium also addressed political fragmentation, changing social structures, new dramatic techniques, theatrical language and the evolving identity of Marathi theatre. The event was seen as an important initiative for encouraging serious theatre discourse and strengthening cultural awareness in Shrirampur.
